Last week I needed a quick meal and this easy vegan Alfredo pasta was just the ticket. I happened to have some raw cashews soaking in the refrigerator so I was able to put it all together in less than 30 minutes. It's best if you have cashews soaked for an hour or two but...

This looks so delicious! Is there an alternative to using nutritional yeast? I've got away from eating that but would love some alfredo sauce.

Thanks sis for sharing the recipe. It looks delicious! I'm going to give it a try and see if I can win over my daughter on this vegan version.

Hey sis, I made the alfredo pasta today and it was absolutely delicious! I loved it! Unfortunately, my stomach didn't love it and I threw it up immediately after eating it. I never had nutritional yeast before and I think I may have had an allergic reaction to it : ( I was looking forward to having it for dinner the next few days too. Do you know of an alternative to nutritional yeast I can use in this recipe that will give it the same cheesy flavor and consistency?

Wow! Pole (sorry)! I wish I did know of a substitute because I'm having a hard time getting nutritional yeast here in Tanzania.

Yellow miso  is an option but nothing tastes exactly like nutritional yeast. Did you use Braggs nutritional yeast?

You can use rawmesan or make your own version with pine nuts garlic and salt.

I won't be able to use the Rawmesan 'cause it has nutritional yeast, but I'll make it again using the nuts and maybe some plaintain, chickpea, or coconut flour to thicken the sauce. Thanks.

It's not your fault. My body has become very sensitive to certain foods, and so it's trial and error when it comes to foods for me.  I'm gonna try it again using everything from your recipe except the nutritional yeast. My addition will be either plaintain, chickpea or coconut flour to thicken the sauce. I also may add some coconut butter into the mix. I'll let you know how it turns out when I make it.
