For me, I do not know about anyone else, I run into problems when I see/read non Asante Twi. For instance, the Kasahorow groups Twi seems to be an integration of all forms of Twi, in terms of spelling, grammar, kwk. I bought one of their dictionaries and it really threw me off. It is probably more a problem for me than anyone else, since my brain is seeking consistency with this language learning. When I do not get it, confusion/doubt sets in. I think besides trying to be consistent in studying every day that is my biggest problem. Regardless, I still have to put the work in.

The kasahorow group will only be helpful for understanding the kasahorow group. It's an attempt at standardization of the Akan language which is not a bad thing, but it will not help you read anything that's out there because what's out there is written in the three major literary dialects. You are right that you have to put in the work, but at the same time it's important to set appropriate goals which will be different if one hopes to be proficient in the language vs. simply knowing how to translate it into english. More on this later.
