It was a powerful discussion indeed. About 3 to 4 hours. A lot of it revolved around learning medu neter and division of labor in terms of knowledge production. There will also discussions of short term memory vs. long term memory for Kmtyw people. They also discussed different models for leadership (Collective egalitarian or hierarchical) and moving forward as Kmtyw people. They also talked about how they have worked professionally in terms of working collectively with others versus working alone. Then they discussed their experiences working with different publishers over the years versus self-publishing or coming together with collectives to publish. It was very instructive in terms of how to go about knowledge production and dissemination.

Interesting.  I recall Nana Ayi's live discussion and his thoughts on mdw ntr. I think he feels that this could be that continental language for Kmtyws. For one it would solve the potential conflicts over the "my language should be" scenario. mdw ntr can be that. I have heard criticism that although we can read mdw ntr it can't be a spoken language....thoughts?  Doesn't make sense to me if we can read it we can speak it...

He says it's too difficult to serve that role. He advocates for a created language perhaps based on it in which various Kmtyw groups can see themselves. The pronunciations are pretty much based on conventions and guess-work based on Coptic and Greek mainly.

No, last time I took someone to Chinweizu's house I recorded it but before I even got home he sent me a text telling me to destroy it referring to Watergate and secret tapes getting out in the public. He's very averse to being recorded in such settings. This is interesting given that his public presentation at The Institute of Kmtyw Studies on n*ggerology was probably more controversial and incendiary than anything that he said in private at his house. I also realized that thinking about the recording would have changed the tenor of the conversation, which was very open and frank in terms of exchanging ideas and experiences. However, Ayi Kwei Armah gave a talk in Jamestown and I recorded that. I should probably be able to post that here before the end of next week as a friend got the beginning, which I missed, and I got the rest.

Oh, and Chinweizu wants to teach a class through Abibitumi Kasa. Maybe Ayi Kwei Armah would be open to this as well.
