About Professor Ater:

Professor Mathu Ater is uniquely qualified to speak on architectural and religious themes. His near thirty years as architectural and graphic media specialists facilitates a fresh and uncommon approach to the study of Egyptology History.  Mathu Ater earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles and a master's degree from Pepperdine University.  He has lectured for such noted community organizations as The S.C.L.C, The Urban League, The Nation of Islam, The National Society of Black Engineers, The Council of Negro Women, National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), and the Association for the Study of Classical Kmtyw Civilizations (ASCAC).  He has lectured at many of the country's leading universities, including Alabama State, NC A&T, Howard University, Tuskegee, Long Island University, UCLA, UC Berkley, USC, UC Riverside and California State to name a few.  Mathu is a member of the Southern California Professional Engineering Association and Epsilon Pi Tau the international society for industrial education.   From 1988-90, he taught at the University of California at Irvine, the historical topic, The Glory of the Black Race.  Mathu Ater has traveled extensively, and leads educational tours to the Nile Valley and sites of ancient Mexico and the Americas, his two main areas of focus.  Mathu Ater served an 11 year apprenticeship under the noted, and late Los Angeles based architect, Lester Oliver Bankhead.  Bankhead was the subject of a UCLA PhD study and featured in the celebrated book, Kmtyw American Architects.  Mathu Ater became a student of Dr. Yosef A.A. ben Jochannan (Dr. Ben) when he joined Ashra Kwesi in his work with Dr. Ben in 1981.  Mathu is presently completing two books dedicated to Dr. Ben focused on The Papyrus of Hunefer and the Central Kmtyw Origins of the Ancient Egyptians, and another, his maximus opus, on the legacy of Imhotep the Architect.
