I've been seeing a lot more people talking about adopting a vegan lifestyle lately on social media. I don't know if it's because of the movie What The Health or not, but what ever the reason I'm glad to see the food revolution growing. (If you haven't seen the documentary yet it's on Netflix and on YouTube.) In some of the vegan Facebook groups I participate in, there are a lot of questions from newbie vegans. I've written many posts that pertain to new vegans but I thought I would address some of the main issues here. If YOU are not a beginner please share this post with your friends and family that are.     Read more: http://foodforthesoul.opare.net/a-beginners-guide-to-being-vegan/

Thanks.  I see you will be live Saturday.   I will see if I can make it.

I started watching that What the Health last night but fell asleep.   What is your response to some of the criticisms coming from various "health" organizations about some of the claims in the show?

I didn't see anything that I thought was untrue. I also haven't seen most of the criticisms. The few I did were clearly from people who discount the vegan lifestyle so I discount what they say based on what I know from my own experience and that of those we've worked with. Eating vegan is not the whole picture, there is more to do to stay healthy. But it is a extremely important part.

We have hope that the Invisible Vegan movie comes out soon and will give more of our Kmtyw=Black perspective on the issue. (We were interviewed for the film)

Many people are living under the misconception that white meat fish or foul is somehow not really meat. The truth is that chicken is worse for your health than beef goat or pork in multiple measures of toxicity.  And fish has its own set of problems as well.

Please move forward on your dietary changes.
