Job Title: Assistant Video Transcriber
Job Description: An independent writer is looking for a dependable, accurate Transcription Assistant to help quickly convert video-recorded interviews to paper format.  You will be listening to the interview and typing the conversation in MS word format for archiving. These are 2 hour long videos, with a total of at least 100 hours. Assistant will be compensated for each 2 hour video that is transcribed, in the amount of 10 GHC per 2 hour video. This is a temporary position with an expected completion date of February 28^th, 2013.
Job Requirements:
-A strong command of the English language, knowledge of some Twi, and exposure to Caribbean (Jamaica, Trinidad) accents.
-Familiarity with MS Windows or compatible software and video viewing software.
-Possess the ability to accurately type at 40 wpm (average speed) or better.
-Have access to a personal laptop computer with Microsoft Office compatible software and video viewing software.
-Ability to work efficiently from home. This job does not require working at an office. You are expected to efficiently transcribe from home and either email or return the transcribed info in a timely manner.
- Have a level of confidentiality. These videos are confidential and copy written. They should not be shared, discussed, or carelessly left for others to view.
