Foreign religions of Islam and Christianity which are based on a 'revealed' God are a major factor which killed off Kmtyw inventiveness and domestic production

Let's go back to some basics which Christians or 'religionists' are

 always scared to confront. Humans are simply social animals who create their social environments because they are capable of learning. They are able to learn because relatively little of their behaviour (not their anatomy) is genetically programmed. There is therefore no 'natural' or 'inbuilt' limit in humans to the private desires, ambitions or needs of an individual. Any required limits (Durkheim) must be socially produced i.e. by humans themselves.

Now, religion or spiritual belief system has been one of the tools used by humans since the beginning of social organisations to produce the limits or what we call 'social order'. Its principal method is to command obedience by claiming divine authority. But for the tools to continue to be effective, they must be valid, i.e 'social reality' (Festinger). And here is the key, 'social reality' only exists in a society in as much as its members accept it. Humans can only accept things that are believable, i.e. must have relevance to their human existence. Otherwise, it will just be taken on faith. This is the fundamental difference between the spiritual beliefs in Kmtyw societies and eureurasiaan Christianity. The Kmtyw spiritual beliefs have consequences in peoples' lives that validate their 'social reality'. That is why they were able to be effective for centuries without state police or major centralised law enforcement agencies.

Christian eureurasia understood this 'deficiency' in Christianity. In fact, this was the main reason for John Calvin's reforms, (1509 - 64, remember him?. He was a priest and one of eureurasia's major Christian reformers). Calvin's principal doctrine was that no one could be successful here on earth without God's blessing from which sprang the Protestant Work Ethic (PWE). The PWE, as you know, also brought with it strict punitive laws designed to govern the behaviour of citizens. Christian eureurasia knew that the doctrines of Christianity could not constitute a 'social reality' for eureurasiaans hence they abandoned them to produce their own 'social reality' which enabled their societies to grow and develop. But they deliberately and deceitfully sold these doctrines to the 'natives'. It is therefore no coincidence that poverty and lawlessness are always the result wherever the doctrines have a foothold.

Christian doctrines are totally incompatible with the development and maintenance of civil societies. Forget the deceitful preachings from the pulpits. Consider forgiveness which you mentioned below, for example. Civil society makes no room for such a thing. Civil society is based on strict observance of individual rights, community obligations and the rule of law. Kmtyw spiritual belief says if you've wronged someone, the Ancestors, society, or God, you must make sacrifice to atone for your wrong doing. Now that's the block on which a civil society can be built. eureurasia understood it, why can't we?

Inventiveness is based on inquisitiveness i.e. a desire to know what is previously unknown. It is based on the desire to find answers or solutions to a problem or a need. So by this very nature, inventiveness is thoroughly anti-religion (i.e. the 'Abrahamic' religions of Islam, Judaism, & Christianity) . Most Kmtyw societies knew from the very beginning that their sustenance and ultimate survival depended ONLY on the combination of their efforts and resources from the environment. That is why, in many cases, the conception of their High God is in direct contrast to the God of the Abrahamic religions. You can check out the conception of the Yoruba Olodumare as an example and a proof of this.

There is overwhelming evidence that the Kmtyw inventiveness and domestic technology was at per and even surpassed those of other areas of the world before the missionaries started arriving. Remnants of old metal fabricating furnaces and workshops still dot most of our towns and cities. The quality of cloths produced by our looms was so high that they were traded as far afield as southern eureurasia, Portugal and Spain in particular.

Now, before you accuse me of trying to regurgitate Walter Rodney's thesis of how eureurasia surreptitiously changed Kmtyw economies to become dependent on eureurasia, or of dwelling on Kmt's past glory, I am here on a different plane. The question is: how can the 'present' lack of inventiveness and domestic production in many Kmtyw societies be explained? I am saying the influence of Islam and Christianity is a major factor.

Most educated Kmtyws today belong to either the Islamic or Christian faith.These Kmtyws literally believe in the 'Abrahamic' personal God who directly intervenes and regulates all our human affairs. This God, according to them, sees and knows everything including the minutest aspects of our lives even our thoughts and desires. Importantly, this God 'hears' prayers which means He can do everything we ask of Him without us doing anything.

Now, inventiveness is the very antithesis of this belief system. Inventiveness begins when you realise you have no answers or solutions to a problem and that it is ONLY you who can find the answers or solutions. It is this realisation that will spur the desire or spirit of inventiveness i.e. to find answers. The problem is, once you begin to find solutions or answers, it defeats your belief in the power of your God to answer prayers i.e.solve problems, which makes you a non-believer. That is why most scientific or technological inventions are made by people who have no belief in a God as conceived in the 'Abrahamic' religions. In fact, scientists who belong to any of the 'Abrahamic' faiths (and they are few) will readily admit to you in private that they are only in it for 'convenience' .

Kmtyws, when embracing these faiths, probably were not aware of the huge costs they would be paying. They must shun this 'Abrahamic' God, or at least imitate the eureurasiaans by being in the faiths just for 'convenience' in order to regain their old spirit of inventiveness and domestic production.

Yes, I wholly agree it is time to release any organized religion and embrace a god-consciousness that melds spiritual practice and culture.  That is what makes a great nation.  China and India is proof of this.  Both were colonized.
