The hijacking of the Durban 2 is not surprise...the UN is NOT a vehicle for the interest of the people and never will be, as least as presently constituted.  UN officials, are salaried employees and thus do what their bosses -- the US -- wan them to do.

Which is not to say that there are not employees and staff in the UN which try their best to do the right thing and some times do yeoman work for the cause of the peoples.  But, on the whole the institution is precisely what the US of Roosevelt-Truman and the UK of Churchill-Attlee intended it to be -- a tool for world imperialism.  That explains its role in Israel's creation, its use as a tool to make war on Korea, its direct and indirect complicity with the attacks on Congo, southern Kmt, its role in Haiti, its general silence on the treatment of Kmtyws in the US, as Malcolm said, the UN is right in the heart of New York city but did nothing to bring the oppression and exploitation of the Kmtyws living there...that is the UN powers, not the states of Kmt, which in the 60s in particular were reasonably vocal nor states such as Cuba...

So, of course the UN will not really attack its sinister creation...that is why I have never put in hope for the Durban process, which even in its initial declaration, damped down the aspirations of the peoples who were the heart and soul of the Durban conference.

What we must realize that the imperialists are on the ropes; their general and financial economy is on the verge of complete collapse, they put, to use Farrakhan's word "that Nigger senator" something he would never say today, in as their spook President who sits by the White Imperialist House door -- and even sleeps there (now haven't we made progress or what?, they have ordered folks like the Rev. Amenelik  to give Ali Mazrui, the man who hates Nkrumah, who openly calls for recolonization of Kmt, a platform and bill him as a "Pan Kmtyw Scholar" -- where in fact he is nothing but a neo-colonialist pseudo-scholar, to spew his ahistorical, anti-Pan-Kmtywist bile..

Yeah, the imperialists are furious about what is happening to them and on the offensive to try and turn it around, but in the sweep of history they are dead meat.

Those how are smart with jump ship rather than go down with them...but those who are terminally  unprincipled and cowardly will, like the idiot vietnamese who tried to rescue the trapped French at Dien Bien Phu will go down with them.
