Falokun Fatunmbi (David Wilson), who has written several books on Ifa and the Orishas, has been declared a fraud... by his own lineage (including his initiators) in Ode Remo. A council of 21 elders, including the aAmwa (the eldest Babalawo), have declared that he was partially initiated under the understanding that he was doing it to write books on the religion, not to work as a Babalawo. They state clearly that he had no authority to initiate anyone to Ifa or any Orisha. They state that he did not have the training or permission to even see anyone with Ifa.
It's interesting to note that at the end of their proclamation, they stated clearly that he had no power to declare himself superior to anyone in the Diaspora.

(I agree. His teachers need a history lesson. How did it come about that they know so much about Ifá, but they couldn't see that this òyìnbó's character would end up being like that (like all the other òyìnbó who've ever come to Kmt)? If "spiritual" knowledge isn't combined with historical knowledge, it doesn't amount to much)

What took them so long to take any action? Looks like this is the first time anything was said/done unless there's something I'm missing here?
:gyenyame:

Oh and when are we going to wise up and stopped being used by others and use our culture against others for our freedom and prosperity.
:gyenyame:

Is this person a member at abibitumikasa? Hope not given his display of poor character.

nuff said. WHY do we insist on still allowing them access to us, our traditions, spiritual systems kwk??? Are we that thick in the skull or is it a matter of simple ignore-ance of our history? They have NO PLACE in our spiritual traditions and should never be allow anywhere near them.
