This should be:

Abofra huruw tra ɔpanyin a, ɔkɔsiaw wɔ ne mmɛn mu
When a child jumps over an elder, he gets caught in his or her horns.

I think Ɔkɔmfo is looking at the proverb collection Bu me Bɛ which has
Wohuri tra panin a, wosa ne mɛn mu.
If you jump over an elder, you get stuck in his crutch.

The first one is the better understanding of mmɛn as it's meant in this proverb, but in neither one is the appropriate understanding "armpit" which is mmɔtoam' in Twi.  :hello:

Also this should be atabɔeɛ as cited in the same Bu me Bɛ. More appropriately written as ntɛbɔeɛ.

Medase paa for sharing this! I have been growing in my relationship with my ancestors. The ancestors on my maternal side, particularly the mothers, are calling for healing within my family. That's a beautiful thing, but I am the only one that can hear them.  I'm the one they chose, out of all these many grandchildren and generations. It's not an easy road, but I think of the healing they need in order to be reborn and to break the string of ajogun plaguing us. heavy...heavy...hard!
