lets learn twi through proverbs this year.?

can you transliterate the twi proverb below, then translate it?

'akɔdaa bɔ ɛnwa na ɔmmɔ akyekyedeɛ'

I can't figure it out. Is "akɔdaa" child? "Bɔ" is to strike, kick, hit, play an instrument. "Akyekyedeɛ" is gift. Hmmmm, please tell me if I am correct on these word translations and translate the proverb.

@kwaku-omowale a child is supposed to do what is within his/her means but does not exceed it.   I found this translation.    Struggling with transliterations...

mepa wo kyɛw, mekyea mo.

the translation i have is

'akɔdaa bɔ ɛnwa na ɔmmɔ akyekyedeɛ'

'the child breaks the shell of a snail, but not that of a tortoise'

?

the meaning of the proverb is correct as above from kwadwo. you have to do things according to your capacity/ability. A child cannot be expected the break the shell of the tortoise because it is much harder and the child is not developed in capacity or ability.
