So with Ananse stories, mpaeyi, proverb reciting, kwk there are particular rules/protocols. Traditionally, are there specific protocols that relate to singing Orisa/Ifa/Egungun songs as far as is there time when sung, context when sung in, kwk?

I've been in Nigeria where songs to a particular Òrìṣà (Ọ̀ṣun) are sung throughout festivals dedicated to that Òrìṣà. Also at shrines to Ifá, Ifá songs are sung to invoke that power/energy. At a wedding, songs to Dàda were sung to me as I have Dàda and I also had owó ẹyọ in my hair at that time. For that one Òrìṣà songs are sung to individuals who are associated with particular Òrìṣà. At Odùduwà's shrine in Ifẹ̀, songs were sung after pouring libations. In the diaspora at peoples' houses I've heard songs sung to various Òrìṣà after pouring libations and starting with songs to Èṣù to open up the way. Also at weddings in the Diaspora, I've attended instances where songs were sung to the presiding Babaláwo's primary Òrìṣà (Ògún) because that was/is his primary Òrìṣà though I'm not sure of the primary Òrìṣa of the couple. In short, the instance (person involved/occasion/place) seem to all have an impact on which songs are sung, quite similar to the case for Abosom, Mmoatia a.b.b.l.
