Blada (Mon), January 22, 6247 (2007) Monthly Dáfá for the Kmtyw Month Zofinkplosun (covering January 20th-February 20th)

E pele O Kmtyws

The Mimo Odù (Sacred Odù) that was revealed for us this month was Ìretè Òsá. New Kmtyws will be glad to know that this Odù came with a definite state of gbogbo ire (all ire) spelled out by the Odù Òdí Òfún.

Ifá says that it sees all ire for New Kmtyws this month. The door is open. There are offerings to the Òrìsà and Vôdù. The Òrìsà and their offerings are:

Ifá – oyin (honey), plate of black-eyed peas
Obatala – omi tutu (cool water), a plate of plain unseasoned white rice
Sango – 6 orogbo (bitter kola), plate of black eyed peas
Egbe (one's heavenly counterparts) - assorted candies and toys

The Vôdù and their offerings are:

Damballa Wedo – small white plate of cornmeal, 9 eggs
Agwe (a water divinity) – rice, beans, and red palm oil mix
Legba – red palm oil, 3 red peppers

For those that have a consecrated E[ch351]u give your offerings to the Òrìsà there. Also, if you have a means of divination leave the offerings there until divination says to remove and discard them. If you do not have a means of divination leave the offerings there for at least 3 days. For those without consecrated shrines take the offerings to the base of a tree as usual. For those that have a connection or initiations to Vodun then give your offerings accordingly. Other than that the same rules of offering apply that are used for the Òrìsà.

We are also to offer prayers and food to our paternal Ancestors in particular this month. If one's paternal Ancestors are not Kmtyw then, of course, offer and pray to the maternal Ancestors. The Kmtyw paternal Ancestors of Kmtyw people have special things they wish to say to us this month. Also, Ifá is saying that many New Kmtyw women are not letting in a masculine Ancestral energy that they can benefit from.

Ifá says that there is and will be overall health in New Kmtyw relations this month. This goes for social, business, and intimate relationships. Ifá says this is a good time to have a "renewal of vows" of sorts because there is a great spirit of healthy relationships abounding. Use this time wisely to fortify and renew marriages and intimate (heterosexual) relationships to better withstand the challenges of the future.

Seek Ancestral guidance constantly. Listen to the inner vision. Ifá says that the feminine energy abounds at this time. Men must not be egocentric and/or chauvinistic. Don't worry about playing the "background" to your woman at this time.

However, women must be careful not to abuse any of their spiritual powers they may have. Also, women that are in a better financial situation than there men should not abuse that advantage either. Women who abuse this power run the risk of that same "power" turning in on them (spiritually). One could have a million dollars and be spiritually bankrupt due to non-adherence to the laws of Ifá.

This is an Odù that says this is a time that we must put into action all of our grandiose ideas and talk. Join an organization, start one of your own, fortify what you have (spiritually and materially), honor your Ancestors more, get DIRECTLY involved in some Kmtyw spiritual tradition. Do not separate the spiritual tradition from the culture. Increase the wearing of Kmtyw clothing, take on Kmtyw names (all the time), kwk.

In this Odù, Ifá says that those on the right side of Ifá will not only defeat their enemies but that they will do so AS THEY GO TO MEET THEIR ENEMIES. They will only be defeated by first sacrificing. This is an Odù that tells us that we do not have to avoid our enemies. We will stand right in the mist of them and conquer them.

Ifá says that this is a month and time to exercise your wisdom and intelligence. In fact, Ifá says that though your skills and wisdom can cause you burdens at times (people constantly calling on you) one can actually profit from that which they know. Tap into your skills and knowledge to maximize your spiritual and material wealth.

In this Odù the power of the Mothers of the Night is very pronounced. This Odù talks about making sure that we are in a state of courage at all times. This is why this Odù says that we are going to go MEET our enemies. Ifá also says that many of you may have been suffering from bad dreams. Be sure to cleanse your heads with coconut water from time to time and where white (especially covering the head). If one finds one's self on the bad side of this Odù, you may feel like you are "losing it" from time to time. Ifá says to concentrate on the bigger picture and get divination when or if this happens. If you are having some serious problems with concentration then you may need to get divination done.

The reverse of our main Odù says that those that do not have help from people have the heavenly sphere employed in their well being. Ifá says to not put too much trust into the promises of humans at this time. Trust the deities, your Ancestors, and your own Ori.

Though we have gbogbo ire in this Odù we still need to watch for certain things. Watch and guard against rebellion in the home. Issues of loyalty are at hand all around.

This Odù speaks strongly of initiation. Whatever tradition you are drawn to one must get divination to see if they should be initiated in that tradition. But initiation is not just ceremonial. One needs to initiate one's mind and spirit daily. Initiate yourself into Knowledge of Self.

Ifá says that though there are many people who wish to take hard earned things from us that they will not be able to do so. However, do not be naïve to such evil intenders. Our ire encourages us to have self-confidence and the building up of one's power. We are in a time of nurturing and caring. The deities want us to be a little more observant and cooler this month. This is where our ire is coming from.

Wealth is truly on the way for us. This may not always be material wealth. We are encouraged to give to receive but to also give without expectation. This is hard for many of us even though we may not say we want something back aloud. Ifá says that this will be the root of success between Kmtyws – to give because we are Kmtyws; that's it.

Ifá says that before traveling one should divine or go to a diviner to see what sacrifices are needed for safety and success. This Odù encourages the respect of protocol of the tradition and respect of the elders (even the ones NOT in the tradition). Our Odù for concerning our ire says to find SOMETHING to do for the poor. Do not just translate this as the material and financial poor. There are many that are mentally and spiritually poor. Do something for them. Let someone you know personally know that you care about his or her spiritual health.

As for doing for others, the Odù for our ire (Òfún Òdí) says:

"Òfún put a limit to goodness;
Waragba, act fast in order for
Òfún not to kill us!"
was the one who cast
for Olori-Oga, on the day
that he limited his goodness
to his own family only.
The Awo's said that those
who limit goodness to their own house,
would never receive goodness themselves
from anywhere outside. They said:
"Sacrifice to give goodness a chance
to finally enter your house"

In another verse from this Odù there was a person whose name translated as "It is not my fault". She was told to sacrifice in order to have success. One of the things she had to do was to do some things she did not like to do. This not only encourages us to do things we normally have not been doing, but it also encourages us to remain consistent in being Kmtyw. That is the main sacrifice. Just as "It is not my fault" had to do things she did not want to do we do overstand that it is not "easy" to be Kmtyw and do all the things we are required to do in our Kmtyw traditions. Yet, this is the only real way that Kmtyws will survive in a whole fashion.

Finally though we have gbogbo ire there are always two sides to Ifá. If we do not sacrifice and live the life of Ifá we run risks. So the other side says that we should do what the Ancestors and deities ask us on a collective basis. A verse from the Odù (Otura Obara) that spells our possible negative risks tells us that two children of the same mother were asked to sacrifice in order to have success. One sacrificed and one did not. Though they had a decent business venture going passer-bys did not patronize the business as much as they would have if they would have saw a unity of purpose there. Because of the inner bickering and not listening to Ifá they did not receive all the blessings from Ifá that they were supposed to. So, if we do not sacrifice and follow what we SAY we believe in (Ifá) then we are running the risk of not having as much peace in the home, spiritual and material success, kwk as we should as New Kmtyw people.

We will also run the risk of our communications becoming our undoing. Right now is a good time for communication. In the past words may have been lost on a good idea or a person. Now those same words will be enriching. Take advantage of this. Communicate and articulate your thoughts now and as best you can. Do not do anything that involves unnecessary risks at this time. In fact, beware of risks in general to be on the safe side. Beware of making hasty decisions and bad financial decisions. Watch your spending because you will need valuable resources later.

E seun fun idafa yii. Nnkan t'o se e gbajumo ju lo fun mi ni oro nipa idojuko awon ota. Bakan naa ni awon Abosom wi fun mi ni Ghana. E se!

Thank you for this divination. The thing that is most interesting to me is the part about confronting enemies. This is the same thing that the Abosom told me in Ghana. E se!

Glad to see tha Ifa spoke such a truth through me meaning glad to see I am on point. The verse from Irete Osa is:

Irete was cast for Aduroja-Abayako,
Osa was cast for Aduroja-Abayako, on the day
that he was about to meet his enemies.
They told him to go and sacrifice, in order
to be able to conquer his enemies.
The sacrifce was a ram, a rooster,
and 22,000 cowries. He listened
and made the sacrifice. They said
that Aduroja-Abayako would conquer
his enemies. Ebo: 1 ram, 1 rooster,
and some money.

I do not have the Yoruba for it. Maybe you can translate it for us.

Oda

Õ bá lè «e é, àmô, önà orí«irí«i wà láti yí örö yìí padà sí Yorùbá. ¿s÷ Ifá l'ó sì dúró l'órí bí a «e máa ñ sæ ô pàtó. 'Torí náà tí õ bá rí àkæsílë yìí ní Yorùbá, màá fi í síbi. ¿ «é!

I could translate it, however, there are various ways to translate these words back into Yoruba. Ifá also depends on the specific way in which it is said. So if I come across the actual way in which the Yoruba is chanted, I will add it here. ¿ «é!
