I am a severe critic of what goes on in Medicine but I don't think its fair to throw this doctor under the bus based on what I heard in the video . As a physician I think the issue if any is failure to consult. However we do not know if the doctor tried and could not get some help  in a timely fashion and was forced to try something to save the persons life. If the patient required intubation he was about to die anyway. That meant that his airway was already closing off. It took a lot of courage to try to save the patient by attempting a  cricothyrotomy. I practiced emergency medicine for thirteen years full time and never had to do one. If I was in a situation where I had to,  I sure as hell would have consulted my reference textbook or if you tube had been available YouTube. Just because he checked a reference doesn't mean he blew the procedure. I give him credit for checking YouTube first.

In a case like this if help was more than five to ten minutes away the patient would have died no matter what.

The malpractice if there was any was from letting the patient get to that point to begin with.

Locum tenens doctors work when the other doctors are away. They are the first to get blamed working in the worst conditions getting paid the least.

Truth be known, people do die from "sore throats."

The problem is usually because the doctors treating them early don't take strep throat seriously and just throw pills at the patient. Stupid because they have a sore throat and it hurts to swallow. The correct treatment is penicillin injection. Was the patient allergic to penicillin and therefore wasn't given penicillin?

Could this have something to do with white supremacy?  I can't tell from the story.

There is so much to criticize the medical industrial chemical complex on.  I'm not sure this is it.
