EGBE OMO YORUBA, National Association of Yoruba Descendants in North
America hereby invites applications from qualified students for their
first "Egbe Omo Yoruba Full Ride Scholarship Program."

Egbe Omo Yoruba is a non-partisan, non-sectarian organization of Yoruba
descendants in North America. It is an organization that has dedicated
itself to the political, economic and social development of Yoruba
people at home and in the Diaspora. It is also our goal to encourage
excellence in the education of our young people.

The intention of our program is to award up to five (5) scholarships to
students who have been admitted to universities and assist them with the
payment of tuition and books for a period of no more than three (3)
years to cover their undergraduate education. To qualify for this award,
an applicant must meet the following requirements:

1. Be in the second academic session and above at an accredited
institution in Nigeria; 2. Be in the first 10% in the field of
study; 3. Submit a one page typed autobiographical essay stating
goals, place of birth and state of origin; 4. Submit a 2-page typed
essay on the role of Aare Ona Kakanfo in Yoruba land; 5. Submit two
letters of recommendation from two professors, attesting to their
identity, character, academic achievements and leadership qualities; and
6. Latest official academic transcripts (sealed).

Application Method:

In addition to the above, the following information should also be
provided on a separate cover page detailing:

1. Full name (with last name underlined) and a recent passport
photograph; 2. Name of institution currently attending; 3.
Matriculation Number; 4. Course and year of study; 5. Latest
cumulative Grade/Score; 6. Postal Address and/or E-mail address; and
7. Mobile phone number if available.

All required documents should be received at the address below no later
than January 31, 2008. Only completed and qualifying applications will
be considered.
