I hope you all are well. Does anyone know what the word werɛ means? I know it can mean to scrape, but also in phrases like "me werɛ afiri" it has a different meaning.

When i was in ghana i remember Ọbádélé telling me it was some part of your body (not a physical part I think).

Thanks for this....great information. It is good to try and understand ourselves in our languages.  The lack of this knowledge is a vital piece that was stripped during the maafa.  The reclamation of our language is a must.

Agreed, that was a pretty profound explanation of "werɛ" especially that last part where he says it's our duty to bind the broken-hearted and console the needy and poor to restore wholeness and bliss to a person or group.
