Syrup such as maple syrup can contain only 2% maple syrup and are labeled pure maple syrup. This syrup usually has white sugar, corn, syrup, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate, salt, imitation maple flavor, dyes and citric acid. the maple syrup production of the trees is increased by using a toxic poisonous paraformaldehyde pallet. these pallets are put in trees to increase the trees syrup production. the filtration of honey filters out nutrients and the heating destroys nutrients. the COMMERCIAL honey industry uses toxic poisons of benzaldehyde, carbolic acid, propionic anhydride, nitrous oxide, sulfa drugs, antibiotics and mothballs, all of which leaves toxic residues in honey. mothballs are used to fumigate combs; also hydrocyanic gas (used in gas chambers)is used to destroy diseased bees. this gas also gets into honey.

honey contains 70% fruit sugar (fructose) and 30% sucrose sugar (white sugar). it causes kidney fatigue and disease nerve and blood vessel damage, hardening of the arteries, gout, arthritis; heart attack; strokes; periodontal disease (teeth and gums) contributes to uterine fibroid, endometriosis, cystic mastitis, breast cancer stomach ulcers liver and adrenal glands get larger and damaged; pancreas shrinks and deteriorates increases blood fats increase uric acid cholesterol, triglyerides cortisone, blood levels of insulin, mood and thought disorders and hyperactivity.

Agave nectar is not a healthy substitute since it contains a mix of > 50% fructose.  I have read that is even higher in fructose than high fructose corn syrup.
