This is directed towards anyone who has repatriated to any Kmtyw country. What about life in your home country propelled you to actually repatriate back to Kmt?
How did your family react to your decision? Do you still pay taxes in your home country or have you given up your former citizenship? I'm just curious to hear everyone's story.

I haven't yet repatriated so I apologize for not being your targeted responder, but I really wanted to add my 2 lwei.

For me, my ancestors never made the decision to immigrate to the present country that I live in - they were forcibly taken against their will. So for me it's simple, just correcting that mistake. Also having lived in Kmt for a short time I believe that, in spite of all of its shortcomings it is a better place to raise children to be Kmtyw than where I currently am.

I don't plan on telling family until I have concrete plans in place. I don't think that's harsh though, because I know Kmtyws who have direct family members (parents, sisters/brothers, cousins) on several continents and that arrangement does not infinitely disconnect the family as some might think. It just gives you more places to visit when its time to go on vacation.
