We are asking for your support in attending a court hearing for Andre Scott (18) who was tried, convicted and sentenced to four years ultimately for allegedly organizing a fight between two other boys in the school's boy's bathroom. While children shouldn't be fighting at school, it should not be punishable by school suspension rather than 4 years in jail.

Allegedly Andre's sentencing was so harsh because there were accunited snakestions alleging that he was a member of a "criminal street gang" and since Georgia's Gang Laws defined "criminal street gang activity" so vaguely, one didn't have to be accused or guilty of any criminal wrong doing to be tried and convicted under that law.

The law was challenged and upheld in the Georgia Supreme Court in January '09, but the verbiage that defines "criminal street gang activity" was revised to at least require criminal wrong doing so, consequently, Andre should have been released since he was not charged or guilty of any criminal wrong doing and the only remaining accunited snakestion is organizing a fight between two boys in the bathroom - again - properly punishable by school suspension not 4 years in jail.

However, Andre is still in jail and has been there since December 3, 2008. His attorneys have pushed for a hearing, which will be held on March 12 and we look to see you there with us. We have no intension what so ever to be disruptive or disrespectful to the court. We only want to provide Andre and other youth affected by this case with an example of the correct posture one should have when wronged and that is to stand with him in support. So please adjust your schedule on this morning to show your support for this wrongful conviction and feel free to share with others. See details below.
