(21:30 GMT) I have just listened to a radio interview on the Twi radio station Asempa FM (you can find them on Ghanaweb), an Accra radio station, where Kwaku Bonsam, a famous Asante medicine man, was interviewed on the radio relating his experiences of walking on the sea! This happened only recently, in the presence of tons of witnesses at Takoradi. He was challenged by a christian pastor. Bosom Kobina of the sea is a very powerful bosom which he invoked, together with many others.  

According to Kwaku Bonsam, the christian pastor confronted him in a very demeaning way but Kwaku was calm. The christian pastor said that Jesus was said to have performed a lot of miracles, so he challenged Kwaku Bonsam to walk on the sea in the presence of the town folk at Takoradi.

So Kwaku Bonsam walked to the beach in his regular clothing, called for his ceremonial dress, including  his 'bodua' (tail) that the Okomfo sometimes carry. Then together with his medicine, he poured libation to The Creator, to the mmoetia and other powers of the sea and to his own abosom and then proceeded to approach the sea in order to walk on it! He said that in the beginning the currents seemed to be pulling in one direction and the next but before long 'a power' arose from beneath the water and kept him afloat as if he was walking on air, although he was drawn farther and farther away from the coast. He said that at this point he was really scared and kept praying to the deities, but the town folk kept edging him on. According to him, what kept him afloat was a combination of the power of The Creator (Odomankoma) and the Abosom.

After seeing Kwaku Bonsam succeed, the christian pastor bolted in his car.

It is interesting that he acknowledges the presence of the Creator. Listening to him, he knows the names of the various abosom. On another occasion, Kwaku called his bosom Kofi--Kofi which allowed him to carry water in a basket for the Asantehene and many others to see during his 10th anniversary of the Asantehene. The carrying of water in a basket with holes in it is a feat that Okomfo Anokye.

It is so interesting to listen to people debating the matter. This guy has been challenged several times in Ghana and so far he has passed all his challenges. The christian pastors who spite him cannot discredit his power. There are other Okomfo and others who periodically appear on the radio stations to show the abilities of the abosom but Kwaku Bonsam is quite well known. He has become something of a sensation.

Kwaku Bonsam says that christian pastors keep insulting him and challenging him but he says that eventually they will leave him be. In any case I thought folks might like to have fun hearing about this Okomfo walking on the sea in front of a crowd of witnesses.

I got a chance to meet him at the anniversary of Ɔboɔ Tabiri descending the mountain in Koforidua. He's indeed a sensation here!

Onua Panyin, wow that must have been an amazing event! I hear Kwaku knows how to electrify crowds! I would love to see him some day. I would also love to meet up with Naa Tia, the Dagomba priest who did those demonstrations with fire, with the chicken and with making money out of paper ash. I was on the phone with him a couple of weeks ago, it will be great to meet up with him one of these days.

I just got back from South Kmt where I paid a visit to Credo Mutwa. It was one of those trips I've been waiting to do for years. Great, great man, in my view he is definitely The Real Deal. He knows a great deal about Kmt, about the greatness of the Black People.

A major issue is understanding who the enemy is. Which brings up the question of why they and the spiritual forces with them have issues identifying enemies outside of the Black people in their immediate vicinity. There needs to be some cliff's notes on the last 2-4,000 years in Kmtyw languages to bring everyone up to speed on what has been forgotten or never fully understood.

Awhile  back i saw a YouTube interview of him and he performed the old magic trick of turning paper into money. After seeing his trick I started to doubt the fanfare surrounding him. Human beings are still in awe of magic and wonders and oblivious to their realty, we're interested in short cuts instead of effort and sacrifice.  I still maintain that the greatest priest is you, how would you grade yourself? Do you speak to the wind and connect with the Creator? Do you pour libation on ceremonial days? Do you fast on holy days like Benada Kwabena or Fieda Fofie?

Well the way I understand it, it was not a trick. Kwaku Bonsam works with nature spirit entities and so do many other medicine people. His demonstrations are assisted by these entities.

What a disgrace and a joke. First of all it's disgraceful that a Traditional Priest would waste his energy working "magic" to keep a player injured for a game. Secondly, this continues the stereotype and mis-education that Kmtyw Spirituality is evil. Lastly, while in hindsight he's saying that his tricks did not work the ramification was much larger, who will take Kmtyw Spirituality seriously? This guy has been saying for sometime now that Western Medicine trumps traditional medicine, and he did it again in this article.

There needs to be like a Nicea conference for traditional Akan Religion/Spirituality. A lot of stuff needs to be abandoned.

Given the eureurasian liquor and carcinogenic baby powder among a whole host of toxic junk, one would be hard pressed not to come to the conclusion that a lot of practitioners may not understand the core of what they are supposed to be doing.
