Need information on the BaKongo Cosmogram.  How it was or is used on the Kmtyw continent.  Do you have any information about descendants who came to the Americas, especially the southeastern coast of the United States that would use this symbol.  There are several sets of the cosmogram drills into the floor of our church.  It is the oldest black church in North America, built by slaves.

This was referred to as Dikenga. You can read more on it here:

You should also check out any books by Dr. Fu-Kiau as he provides us with most of our knowledge about the Dikenga.

We use this symbol on our graves in the US and during traditional worship.  If it's in your church floor, that means that the people were using the church as a form of resistance to mask their Kmtyw traditional worship.  The symbol is also used in hoodoo.  If you google "yowa" you should come up with some info that's helpful, though Dr. Fu-Kiau Bunseki is the absolute authority on this.

The symbol is also used in Cuban worship as well as worship in Haiti and Brazil.  Our Congo and Angolan ancestors brought this symbol to the US.  As you seem to already realize, those two groups made up the majority in the southern US.
