A verse of an Odu Ifa says:
Ki sisa o ma a je
Ki aisa o ma a je
Saa-saa l'abe nj'ise ori
Saa-saa l'oogun Elemeso
A d'ifa fun Aroni Màgíà
Eyi ti nlo se awure fun Oba Eleyo Ajori
A sese npa elo oogun
Oogun ti nje.

English:
With incantation, may prayers manifest
Without incantation, may prayers manifest
A razor cleanly shaves hair off the head without incantation
Elemeso's oogun (medicine) always manifests
Ifa was divined for the King of Ajori (Oba Eleyo Ajori)
The preparation of an oogun had hardly finished
The oogun manifested with lightning speed....

A tested fact in Ifa tradition is that 'Ifa covers everything." What that means is that there is hardly any topic, condition, or experience that is not touched upon by Ifa. Ifa is so vast that a professional Babalawo will not hesitate to tell a novice that "Ifa is in-exhaustive. " So was the case on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 during the eight (8th) Annual Odun Ifa of Southern California, united snakes, hosted in San Bernardino by Ile Orunmila The Shrine, Ile Orunmila Communications, Oladokun Multimedia Production, and Dokun Investments.

Ifa assured us at the initial stage of the preparation for the Odun Ifa that this year's celebration would be positively different from past years' celebrations. The prediction came to past. The Awos present can attest to this fact. Plus, the number of attendance this year far surpassed prior years' attendance. The celebration was ecstatic! In fact, the celebration continued on after the singing and drumming had stopped. Awos came from far and near. Those who attended the celebration for the first time were happy to be part of the celebration; the usual good vibration from fellow Awos, who have always been part of this celebration, was exhilarating. Awos came from far and near, as far away as from Belize and Nigeria, and as near as from everywhere within the state and outside of state. With the ase of Odumare via the Orisas, food and drink were in abundance; joy and laughter were in abundance; peace and serenity were everything; smiles and contentment were visible in every face. We were all happy. Of course, and not surprising, because Ifa had predicted it.

At the end of the celebration, we went back to Ifa to register our gratitude. Ifa's response to our effort in praising the Orisas, and in celebrating peacefully in unity, was additional blessing of IRE AIKU from Eji Ogbe. This year, a visiting Babalawo from Nigeria, Oloye Ifasayo Alabi (Ejemu Awo of Ibadan), was in charge of the ceremony. May we all benefit from the Ire predicted by Eji Ogbe this year for us in Ile Orunmila, all Awos present, Awos who were unable to witness the celebration, and all our well wishers.

Just as the cited verse of an Odu Ifa says above, may our iwure (prayers) manifest "with lightning speed" from this point on, ase.
