Haiti and the Orisas

There comes a time when the wise is challenged and the novice is perplexed. In our super scientific world, natural phenomena keep reminding us that spiritual attention to forces of nature is as important as the modern instruments employed when dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters. It is time, perhaps, when we should combine spiritual investigation with scientific inquiries into forces of nature. With high probability, we might be able to forestall future calamities. Meanwhile, our sympathy goes to Haiti and Haitian Americans. Even though the entire world has risen to help Haiti in dealing with the present catastrophe, we pray that the Orisas (Loa) support them on the long run just as the Orisas (Loa) helped them into a brighter horizon at the beginning of Haiti's history. Truthfully, and as pointed out by Ifa, "Death does not spare the clergy" and "Sickness does not spare the expert herbalist, doctor, or druggist." Rich or poor, young or old, religious or atheist, living life to the fullest, in good health, is akin to everyone's aspiration. With that, I wish the entire humanity "love, peace, and strength." To Haiti, "Be strong": the future is brighter than the past.
