Mekyea mo (Greetings y'all),

Several of us are actively planning repatriation black to our ancestral home continent and while we may be focused on repatriating to different countries in Kmt and working with different timelines, I think it would be a good idea for us to link up regularly to share updates, plans, resources kwk. Who knows, we may be able to co-ordinate our efforts to varying degrees and make the process easier or at the very least more supported.

I'm working with an 18 to 24 months timeline, location to be confirmed.

So far the repatriation courses I've attended here at abibitumikasa as well as discussions with Kmtyws who have repatriated, are repatriating and will repatriate have done much to guide my planning. Much love and respect especially to Obadele, Ofomfo Akosua and Dukuzumurenyi for their much needed encouragement whenever it was needed.

I appreciate this and would love to share with others as well as learn from others in order to make living in my homeland a reality.   I also took Ras AriEl's repatriation course through abibitumikasa.  As a matter of fact, I took it twice.

I almost drove myself to ill health from lack of rest, but it was worth it. I had a savings goal which I fell short of. I realized that the longer I stayed the more of the "nest egg" i'd have to eat into due to living expenses. My advice to others is grind as hard as your body will allow you to without dying and focus on time (rather than money) and make it happen. Also have a concrete plan (that doesn't require the support of Black people (especially "conscious" Black people with supposed ideological or racial allegiances)).

Great advice Obadele. Your story has been particularly inspiring I've taken a couple major messages from your story... the main one being focus more on the timeline that on the $$.

Man, I wish I cud say "NO" to what Obadele said about not having black folks support as apart of your plan but I can't. When I moved out the country my first time I had a master plan and was working it. I did everything myself too. It was hard but worth it!!! I had a few folks that was suppose to join me after I made the touch down and they never came.lol Not only did they never come but they never even got their passports.(smh!) I am now planning to move again and I once again have developed a nice plan to not just get me there but help others whom say they want to go also. Well, I am going about it different now, once I realized that I was about to make the same mistake as I did before. My feelings got so hurt!!! its funny! however, I am planning to move in the next 2 yrs if not earlier. My plans are centered around me, myself and my children only!!!  I know I can and will do it! I am very thankful for my ancestors and my spiritual guides for they are the only friends and supporters I need.

The original idea in this thread from @Akua Ma'at is a good one since we have a new crew of members interested in repatriation like @Kindomba and @NKO. Y'all/we could use the forums here and the classroom to share updates, plans, resources, kwk.

Does anyone have an idea about how long $10k or $50k (USD) would last in Ghana or Liberia? Does anyone have any knowledge on gaining citizenship in Liberia?

Here's my 2 cents.
Having repatriated  to Tanzania this July I had to keep reminding myself that no matter what I encounter in TZ. -- I if I made it in united snakes with the constant allostatic load under the brutal repression of the Krakkka state-- I sho as hell can make it in TZ without it.

Scope out a safe landing pad. Don't try to over plan. Don't put you cash into buying land now. You don't have a good way of knowing a good deal or even if you want to settle where that parcel is.

Clean up your life in the united snakes so you have very little or no expenses ongoing in united snakes. Put whatever $ you can in your pocket. Sell, or give away or donate--get rid of your stuff,  pack all you can afford to carry on the plane and lift.

Plan on living like an Kmtyw not an expatriate.

Do the right thing, don't worry. Know you are home now. Plan on having to work just as hard to make it on the continent as you do now in the united snakes. 🏿️🏾

It really depends on what you use the money for. You can blow it all on one car or one investment in a day. You can whittle it away on rent and living expenses but all that depends on how you want to live (i.e. with or without the jacuzzi).
