I am brother. Not just for myself but my family also.  I just got my daughters' name changed,(I literally received the court approval today in the mail), the process is much easier and they are no longer carrying on their slave name. We started a new legacy. As for myself, I've renamed myself two years ago but still wrestling with the idea of going thru the tedious legal process.

I personally have an issue  with the legal process, Why do I have to ask, pay, and go thru so many ridiculous steps to change my name thru this oppressive government when that was not the case for my ancestors who were enslaved and "branded" with a eureurasiaan name?

I have issue with amerikkka to begin with. Living in amerikkka is a hassle to begin with.

Let me ask you  about drivers license? Passports? Bank accounts? Taxes? Professional certification? Hospital/medical issues? Retirement/ social security?  Parental rights? Employment? If you don't deal with any of these then maybe why bother.

In each situation you must present your "real" name. And answer to it. Not your alias which you go by among your Kmtyw acquaintances.

Whether you like not it or not you are a citizen (second class) of united snakes and as long as you are you must abide by the rules. Or you can live a criminal life and risk enslavement at anytime. Try changing your name in prison.

If you don't like that situation leave and renounce your citizenship.

But now having moved to Kmt now try and change your name. See how how easy that is.

Changing your name although a hassle legally is power of word. Never having to acknowledge a slaver yurugu that held your ancestors captive to anyone at anytime is well worth the hassle.

Women change their names all the time sometimes several times in a lifetime just because of the "oppressive" marriage convention.

Does not changing your name because you don't want to go through the steps really makes sense?

Are you willing to go through the steps to repatriate?

Are you willing to go through the steps to free yourself?

Or is it more convenient to go by Toby on the plantation?

All great points, believe me, I have thought all that thru, and I am willing to repatriate (that is definitely within my plans) but I'm still not fully convinced in regards to the legal name change process. Its more than a pride thing, which I swallowed enough to do the name change for my children, but when it comes to self-identity and self-determination, but you have to go thru the government to claim it, they're dictating everything, it doesn't make sense. I am free when I liberate myself, not when the gov approves some petition.

Wait till you get into your late fifties- early sixties and contemplate cashing your upcoming social security checks. .

How sincere an Kmtyw will you appear to be talking Kmtyw yet banking white.

@Hi Free-quency
would you mind posting the general process for name changing for those of us too lazy to look it up (me, has not been part of my plan yet) and any issues we should know about? i do think you will take the next step when you are ready. it hit me that i would feel horrible when my daughters or maybe someone else asked me why we do not have the same name. Good Luck to you.
 @NKO you stated:

can you elaborate on this for me? you seem to be putting a lot of wrenches in my plans. i definitely hoped it would be easier to go home and change your name after seeing people have naming ceremonies. please keep the info coming, i really appreciate the help.

Remember your name is your legal entity. Unless you have citizenship in a country they have no legal agency for changing your name. The us government is not likely to want to issue you a new passport while overseas because you went to a foreign government or spiritual leader to change your name. Sorry many of us were born in enemy territory and thus are under legal control of the government there. If you want to operate legally as your Kmtyw name you will have to have it legally changed in the us. As long as you are a us citizen you will need a us passport. You have to petition the us government to renounce your citizenship. See other threads on that issue.

If you are too lazy to look up how to change your name in your state you are too lazy for revolution or repatriation.

revolution is a strong word. "a revolution is bloody" - omowale. i am on the side of Hi Free-quency right now of where i do not need to sign up for the us supreme court to change my name to repatriate. good info, but the supreme court will be last choice at this point.

Name change is not done at the Supreme Court. It is done in state civil courts and requires a simple petition you can do without an attorney.

It's that simple

yes you are correct. in my haste, i made a major typo. it should be superior court, but i said supreme in my head so i wrote it. my bad.

I took time to think through what you brothers said, but I'm going to stick to mu guns. This Dr. Amos Wilson quote elucidates my sentiment:

"To come to know ourselves as we were prior to our re-creation by aliens means we will be in charge of our own becoming, the creators of our own consciousness, the creation of ourselves as namers of the world, the namers of ourselves which gives us power of self-determination and self-direction."

Peace and prosperity

#WhatsMyName ? Will Black Americans DITCH Their 'Slave Names' On Juneteenth 2018? ?

The reason for changing my name legally was so that when dealing with the government or the economic system or foreign entities I never have to give or answer to a slave name. If you don't deal with any of the above then you got no problem just calling yourself whatever you want.

I realized after having received my Akan name for several years that I still had to in the professional world introduce myself and sign with a slave name. So I legally changed it.

Does one have a slave name on ones postal mail? Drivers license? Passport? Professional license? Pay check? Bank account? Titles for vehicles and property? Educational degrees and certificates?retirement or social security checks? Child support or welfare checks? Credit rating? Credit cards? But then give an alias Kmtyw nickname to your social acquaintances?

The question can legitimately come up about what are you trying to hide?

Yes there is a tax for living and doing business in a country. License fees, passport fees, title registration fees, etc. Part of that involves the use of a legal entity called your name. If you want to use a name you must register it unless you were given it at birth and it was registered for you. And for that there is a fee.

Many criminals use aliases to escape government notice. If you are trying to escape debt or prosecution then legally changing your name makes no sense. The process of legal name change is to make it possible for creditors and government agencies to be able to find you.

We don't want to legitimize the oppressive united snakes government yet we spend our lives paying it taxes and fees and voting. Yet when it comes to self definition we won't pay a penny.

We won't consider repatriation or even visiting Kmt.

If your parents did not have the consciousness to give you a proper name then part of the price for your psychological, psychic and legal freedom is to purchase the right to use a proper name from the state apparatus under which you reside.

There is more than one way to change ones name. If you live in the united snakes I recommend referring to the Nolo Press book on changing your name.

I did and found it very useful and it helped me change my name on all of my documents except one where the school had closed for business.

Malcolm X was famous and was well known by his name. Did he pay taxes as mr X? Did his drivers license and passport say Malcolm X? If they did he had to pay money to the government to make them so.

Is changing your name socially and not legally just posturing or showing off? Does being serious about changing the ones name mean taking the trouble to make it your name in all areas of human interaction? Using a slave name in any area of interaction was unacceptable to me. Is it to you?

If one doesn't have any of the above documents or any certifications that you need to conduct your business - you still have to put that slave name on your tax return and sign it on the back of your refund check.

The birth certificate is the notice that allows you to use a name legally not having otherwise having designated one. This is posted with the government.

I agree that we shouldn't have to go to yurugu to secure legal rights to Kujichagulia/naming ourselves. So let's create our sovereign nation so we don't have to.

We are looking to finally make this Invite happen. Stay tuned for details and schedule.
"Intellectuals ought to study the past not for the pleasure they find in so doing, but to derive lessons from it"

Thinking about her point that without a name, it's as if the child never existed with regard to the question of do Ancestors exist before they reincarnate?
