Is Abibitumi Kasa an anti-social network? What do you think about the level of interactions with others on the site, in the forum chat and in the classrooms?

I wish there was more participation. I talked with someone who used to be on this site a lot a few month ago about this same topic. I think it is a cross between people here being too serious and not thinking this is a social site. Just conversing with someone to be social is alright here. We need to do it. I think those of us re-Kmtywizing know there is so much work that needs to be done we don't take the time to just get to know someone personally. We may look for someone's political and historical leanings primarily. If we are truly going to re-Kmtywize we need to be Kmtyws and be open to get to know the total Kmtyw. I could be wrong but that's my take on this.

I think there's an endemic culture here of viewing/reading but not replying. Or not being interested enough about input/thoughts of others to ask. To change that, either regulars have to change and reconceptualize the site and interactions here or new folks have to come who don't have the preconceived notions/biased notions against connecting with others/each other on the forums. :soldierg:

ps - i was recently considering converting from the current forum format to more of a wordpress blog type forum where myself and maybe a few others produce article-style content and just let people comment on it.

I've always thought of this site as a social site, not in the sense as a party type bs site but it helped me to connect with brothers and sisters that were of a like mind set and keeps me focused on what I need/supposed to be doing. Some are further along in the ReKmtywization/ dewhitenization process and I am ok with that, I have learned a lot. I have met people on this site that i would consider friends and wouldn't mind them having my back in a battle ( mental physical or spiritual ). I think it is important to get to know other Kmtyws from different places with different backgrounds because I've realized that a lot of our struggles are the same and I am not alone and I am grateful for that. This is the only site that I have actively participated in and it is because of the Kmtyws here. I will continue to what I can to help keep Abibitumi Kasa alive and thriving. I am because we are. Quote?errthang;70575 wrote: I too wish there was more participation on the site and have tried to start programs/activities to encourage folks to come on more and get involved.  The thread "Ideas, Ideas, Ideas" was intended to get members input on what they would like to see here.  I'm more involved here than anywhere else on the internet, because I like the members, there's a ton of valuable information, and we have fun when we get together.  I will continue to work hard and participate with everything that we have going AND look for ways to get more members involved, but.....we are not fb and should never try to be.  Our purpose is different here and the quality of the info/members/work done here is more important than the numbers.

I like the forum set-up as is (vs. members' blog articles & response type), but....that's my opinion.  :Kmt:
The Ideas, Ideas, Ideas thread was beautiful. The concrete initiative of getting the flyers up and out there was a big result of that. You give 110% all the time. One of the challenges is that, apart from polls, in terms of interaction in the forums, it can get to be a bit of a ghost town at times. Sometimes the only activity of the day or week for that matter is in the RSS feeds. One thing that we have seen is that ghost town forums = unattended activities, events and classes. While we're not fb (nor should we be), we're not out to prove we're not fb by being a ghost town (ancestor town?). We have the highest quality regulars (tha u.s.) that the world has ever seen. One of the challenges on the flip side of the coin is that just regulars isn't a sustainable model. There HAS to be better attendance at the classes. There should be better attendance at activities and events and those should, in turn, feed each other. I've been a part of a forum where there was a whole lot of activity on the forums and that equaled a lot of activity in events. I don't see (or haven't seen) one happening without the other. In the final (or my final) analysis, aK has to be able to not only sustain itself but eventually develop and fund Kmtyw initiatives offline. Asafo so Nyankopɔn a, ɔbaako nnuru mu afu. If the whole populace carries the Supreme Being, one person doesn't become hunchback (from the weight). As we strive to continue to distribute the weight, I think a change in culture from view/read + don't comment to view/read + comment will = more interaction on the forums and lead to greater participation in the events and activities and more so in the classes which are really the lifeblood which keeps the forums online.

Abibitumi kasa isnt an anti-social network. The publicity hasnt gotten to the masses. Thats why i was pushing for the agenda of organising a health walk in the name of the forum just to encroach the masses. How many consciously awaken brethrens can boldly claim familiarity with Abibitumi kasa? Compared to the mass download of other social media apps? I understand the numbers doesnt matter like the readiness and zeal. But there must be other alternatives to reach our audience because when i first heard of this forum it was through a medium on facebook.

The concept and idea of setting up a  *Conscious Awaken* brotherhood/fraternity is to dissociate, educate, teach, learn and unlearn from the religiously entangled web we are caught up in today. We are trying to dissociate our way of reasoning from the religious viewpoint of *Thinking for ourselves* instead of the bible thinking for you. We are trying to leave a lasting legacy/stigma or doctrine down for the next generation. One cannot continue preaching consciousness without putting their thoughts into *Action*. The world needs some *Metu Neter* right now. These religious myths will all return back to the mother of all philosophed beliefs of one *GOD* called *Ma'at*...
A consciously awaken person embraces rejection, dejection, pain and death which the ultimate rewards lies in the hands of the *Ancestors*...
We speak our minds regardless of what others may perceive us to be...
We do not impose ourselves on religious folks to be accepted or embraced. Society already considers our way of *Thinking* evil...
This is the idea of projecting our core values and visions to the world through a simple *Healthwalk* . We are *INTRODUCING OUR PRESENCE* to the world...
There are days set aside for national *Sanitation day* which is another activity/ program. One can not wake up overnight to embark on a governmental project without being properly introduced.

I can be one of those view/read + don't comment types. When I first joined it was because I knew I wasn't there yet and I didn't want to give my misguided opinion. Now, it's more because I don't want to waste too much time on social media. Being that I'm not quite there, don't I have other priorities lol? I've started using the app more like my one stop source for Kmtyw news. I assume that so many users don't interact is because they don't know what to expect and they sign up and then it's not what they thought. I've witnessed a lot of Black folks that swear they're 'down wit' Black empowerment', until it's up close and personal. They literally freeze up, they become so uncomfortable. Some folks can't let go of the eureurasiaan paradigm, like Obibini said in another post. Their programming tells them they HAVE to be friends with whites. To the point they're willing to sabotage their own family's well-being. So they can't stand to see Kmtyws who gone keep it real with you. They spit out that same pre-programmed rhetoric "why you gotta be so hateful?" How is it hateful for me to recognize my enemy, historically, and take action to put their threat to an end? Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I was just having a conversation with my wife earlier today about "social media" sites and something I said was that I think it's a little unfair to label the site a certain way.  The site/ space itself is just the platform or point of interaction. It's the individuals that frequent it that determine whether or not it's truly social or anti.

With that said, I'm still hesitant to inquire about certain things or give my opinion because I'm still trying to get a feel for the family members here and don't want to badger anyone. I've come to understand (and accept) that just because Kmtyws have joined this site, they aren't necessarily going to be all that sociable and willing to engage with others.

I'm just one guy still undergoing the process of Re-Kmtywizing and by no means am I an authority on the subject. Just tossing in my cents...

I've been on several Kmtyw centered boards for the past 15 years, and this is by far the best forum on the net. In comparison to other message boards, the amount of Kmtyw centered content shared is considerably higher than the other boards. Matter of fact, I've stopped using google to find Kmtyw material, and instead, I now start my search on Abibitumikasa.

In regards to interaction, there are a few boards/social media platforms that have more interaction. However, more interaction is not good if it's not moderated responsibly. We're blessed to have a good number of scholars that patronize the board, so we're always steered in the right direction instead of having pointless debates about whether the slave trade happened, or if the MDW NTR has been deciphered.  Quality and moderation of discussion is a huge reason why I use this social media platform over others. Lastly, I always feel like I'm learning something new on here.

Statistically, user growth is strong on Abibitumikasa. We have a total of 7,444 members over an 11 year period that's an average of 676 new users a year. Of the 676 new users, roughly 7% are active which is a good number in my estimation.  Moreover, Dr. O has increased his content on Youtube over the past five years, and I bet we're seeing more growth in membership as a result of new Youtube subscribers.

Lastly, this board is more active than other message boards. For example, Destee has approximately 46K users and 959K discussions for an average of 20 posts per members. Abibitumikasa has 220K discussions and roughly 7.4K users averaging 30 discussions per user.

I could be wrong with my numbers so please feel free to check.

@Tenkamenin mepene so.   I have seen the membership grow and participation ramp up as well. I definitely agree that this site is far bette than any other Kmtyw center site with the social media aspect. The knowledge here is not matched anywhere. It sets it apart from just being a social media platform to more of an Kmtyw Social Education Network.  The thing I like is we have members who actually read and provide insight rather than what typically happens on other sites. And behind the site there is action on the ground!  And we are growing and getting better!
