QuoteAgya Yaw;235058 wrote: I don't exercise for now. I think about how I want to be when I'm 70 (assuming I make it that far). If I want to be able to walk around unassisted. Go up and downstairs without damn near keeling over. Pickup grandchildren and run around with them without clutching my chest like Fred Sanford. I must put the work in now, not later when I'm 65 and on a bunch of prescription junk. That's too late. For example, I don't use escalators/elevators if there are stairs around to use. I bet you do more walking around than slamming people. If you do somethings amiss there.

Same thing with my diet, I'm eating for 70. There is a point of no return with certain things. I'm trying my best, no matter how long I live, to never reach that point. Additionally, I hope I'm never in a situation where I need to slam somebody. But if I need to I'll be in shape to do it. And my appearance of being in shape will help scare off most folks anyway lessening the likelihood of the need, among other things.
That makes sense on putting in the effort for when you're 70.
I walk around and slam people probably at a 3:1 ratio. Every few steps I'm lifting somebody up and ramming him/her into the concrete.
Well, as Dr. @Kamau_Kambon says, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. If you ever do, you don't want that to be the first time that you've worked on it. Just cause I make it look easy doesn't mean that it is. LOL
The in shape looks may help, but personally I wouldn't want to bank my life on it. :meiafrente:

Not everybody is the same but my dad is in his seventies and I've got videos of him doing sets of pull-ups and push-up.
The training is ongoing and never stops for him.
He injured a knee and you can see him in a wheelchair  @Obadele Kambon and  @Kala Kambon 's wedding.

A doctor quoted that it would take over a year for him to heal. Because he's an athlete and always trains he was back up and walking in three months.

That was 3 years ago. But now he's still chops wood, hits the gym, trains at home....

Not disagreeing with your personal plan just sharing and alternative reality that has worked for some.
In order for health to be a lifestyle when you're older it has to be part of your lifestyle when you're younger.

Last ones for tonight:

I actually kind of cheated myself on this last one by only lifting him up shoulder-high instead of getting full extension by lifting him over my head...he was probably happy that I did it this way though because he didn't die. :hello:

He was dunking on people well into his 40s. If not for some wild guy bumping into his knee, he probably would have been doing it into his 50s. Baba represent, represent!

Doing squats will definitely help with your slams. Forget the benching and the curls. Don't sleep on squats. They work your entire lower body plus your core if done correctly. That will help when lift those bodies off the ground.

I'm not understanding. Can you do a video where you show me how you're doing yours?

Check the same brother's videos I posted for you yesterday. He has a bunch on squats. Just ignore stuff he say about building size. He's a former bodybuilder so he's always harping on muscle size. Also deadlifts, that's probably even more appropriate for the technique you employ for your slams. With squats you can do the movement without weights. Trust me you do enough and you will know you did them after.
