Yesterday, for lunch I ate plantains with a mango salad (Meda Ama Opare Ase).

Surprisingly, I'm down 3 lbs! I think my body spotted me 3 lbs. for making this commitment but will expect more work going forward.

If you climb a good tree, we push you.

Where yall at? Two workouts yesterday. I have two planned for this afternoon: a semi-private training session and then cycling/spin class. 54 days until 40! I don't mind working out. It's just CONSISTENTLY  making good food choices that is the challenge for me. I purchased The Optimum Fast pdf. I plan on doing a week long juice fast starting on July 22nd.
I've done green juices and such several times before but the specifics of this program is a little daunting. Nevertheless I'm up for the challenge!
I hope everyone is well.

Still here. Just getting back in the grind after my back recovering.  Keep up the great job!

Keep up the good work! I have the previous edition of Dr Opare's fasting book and it's very helpful.

In regards to my journey to weight loss, I got a coworker that loves to tempt me, and today, she brought in some peach cobbler and I caved in. However it's all good, this evening I'm going to push myself by hitting the bags, push-ups, and some weight lifting.I have this routine I like where I do 10 sets of 2-1-3 combo on the punching bag followed by 10 push-ups.

I fully understand temptation.  I'm sincerely hoping I can break my sugar addiction with the fast.  I love boxing but my traps get over worked really easily so I have to do it sporadically.

Mbote Everyone!

Clearly I am way late coming in on this challenge but after reading some of your posts I am inspired to do some more health and wellness work for myself also. I also wanted to say ya'll are doing a blacktastic job! I believe my diet is pretty healthy but I can always do some tweaking here and there. I have been vegan for about 7 yrs with stints of being raw vegan as well, and I already incorporate some activities like kemetic yoga, dance, and walking but  I can certainly do them more often and more consistently. I am also a naturopathic physician, and currently an acupuncture student so with the long class days and late nights of studying and work etc. I could work on sleep hygiene for sure! I Love sharing, educating and learning about health and wellness information, as well as making healthy and yummy vegan food, so I will post some recipes and tips I use along the way as well. Not sure how long you guys are gonna be doing this challenge, but In the mean time, More power to you all on your health journeys~

Welcome!

Give thanks!

Had a training session this a.m. Followed with a protein shake.
My snack is this watermelon, mango and pineapple.  Eating healthy is a bit of a challenge when I come into the office. The break room is always enticing me. But so far so good.

I can eat watermelons and mangos all day. My house probably goes through 20+ mangos a week.

Yesterday, I had a great workout in my garage (Capoeira kicks, bicep curls, and push-ups). Today my clothes are feeling much looser so I'm definitely making good progress.

This morning, I did not have time to make a smoothie so I packed some fruits for breakfast and will have a Kale salad for lunch. For physical activity, I will walk to the nearest gym and workout for an hour.

I didn't realize how much I loved Mangoes until this year. I love the yellow ones especially. Keep up the good work.

It was good! I actually need to buy another watermelon at this point.  I'm downing at least once a week. My challenge is finding "seeded" watermelons these days though.
